The recent purchased of the JF-17s fighter jets soon to be delivered by the Nigeria defense from Pakistan is indeed a step forward on strengthening the air power of the Nigeria air force with military expenditures exceeding billions of naira you would expect a modernization of the Nigeria armed forces from the era of using dead military hardware's to a 21st century game changer hardware's on the on going war against terrorism with the alpha jets nearly obsolete the Nigeria air force needs to maintain it's air superiority

Nigerian Air force (NAF) is expected to take an order of three JF-17 Thunder fighter jets after the Pakistani government provided a $184 million government guarantee to cover production.

With the addition of the JF-17s into the Nigeria air force you can be well assured that the Nigerian sky is protected  but much effort is still required, for Nigeria to be a major player as a regional power it needs to be able to protect it's airspace and be able to protect the region
